These come over in the winter in large numbers sometimes. When food is hard to find further east they come.

I have found them in our local Lidl car park but my greatest shots were taken in Cheltenham. The trouble was that they decided to perch about 600 yards from GCHQ and a load of photographers that near caused concern. A very nice policewoman asked us what we were doing. We told her, she said what’s a Waxwing. By this time she had parked her van under the tree that they were in and flushed then out. She believed us in the end.
